Start with viewing distance
A banner viewed from several metres does not need the same pixel density as a small card. Large text and strong contrast usually matter more.
Set the correct proportions
Create the artwork using the final banner ratio. Check whether eyelets, hems, poles or mounting areas will affect the usable design area.
Use vector elements where possible
Logos, shapes and typography are easier to scale cleanly when they are vector artwork.
Keep key information prominent
A viewer should understand the message quickly. Use a clear headline, short supporting text and one obvious call to action.
Inspect the scaled output
Before delivery, zoom out and review the artwork at an approximate viewing distance. Check contact numbers and dates carefully.
4PASS tip: Always confirm product-specific specifications such as trim, bleed, paper, finishing and color requirements with your printer before final export.
