RGB is for light
Screens create color with red, green and blue light. RGB files can contain bright colors that some printing processes cannot reproduce exactly.
CMYK is for ink
Commercial printing commonly uses cyan, magenta, yellow and black inks. Conversion can change saturation or brightness.
Do not judge only on screen
Monitor brightness, profile and ambient light affect what you see. A proof or printer-approved workflow is more reliable for critical brand colors.
Use correct color profiles when required
Follow the printer's supplied profile or specifications instead of converting blindly. Different processes and papers behave differently.
Keep brand colors consistent
For important logos and corporate colors, record approved values and use the same specifications across artwork.
